Transport for London

Visitor tickets

Visitors can choose whether to get an Oyster card to pay as they go or buy printed tickets.

Oyster card with pay as you go

Oyster is London's travel smartcard. Add money to it so you can pay as you go  on the bus, Tube, tram, DLR, London Overground, and some National Rail services.

Our aim is to ensure that Oyster always charges the lowest fare. Where it doesn't, we will refund the difference.

A special Oyster card is available for overseas visitors.

Travelcards

Travelcards are printed tickets available for one, three or seven consecutive days, and for various combinations of  travel zones (PDF 209KB).

Tickets and Oyster cards for visitors aged under 18

If you are under 18 and visiting London, you need to know about discounted travel for under-18s. Some children will need to get an Oyster photocard to get free or reduced travel.
