The draft Cycle Safety Action Plan sets out how cycling can be made safer in London. It draws on recent experience in cycling growth in the Capital and knowledge about what is needed to improve safety.

We want to know what you think about the Mayor's priorities for making cycling safer in London.
The number of people cycling has increased in London in recent years, while the rate of cycling casualties has declined. But safety is still a serious issue and is the main reason people don't cycle.
Read the Mayor's draft Cycle Safety Action Plan and let us know your thoughts. Plans include:
- Promoting cycle safety to all road users
- Providing new, safe cycle routes and facilities such as Cycle Superhighways and cycle hire
- Boosting cyclist's confidence through training
- Encouraging HGV operators to take cycle safety seriously

Next steps
The action plan will be finalised in the New Year, while implementation of key safety actions contained within it will commence immediately.
