Walking and accessibility

Considerations when walking with wheelchairs or buggies.

Walking with wheelchairs and buggies

Some walking routes in London are suitable for wheelchairs and buggies, but some are not. Please bear in mind that so far no formal assessment of routes in London has taken place and you should therefore approach all routes with caution.

Routes indicated to be suitable could become inaccessible at any time - for example, surfaces may deteriorate, work may be taking place on ramps, or lifts may be out of order.

The description of any route within Walkfinder as 'accessible' does not imply that it will be when you go. You are advised to check in advance with the highways department of the local authorities concerned (indicated in the route descriptions).

Tip: using Journey Planner for walking
If you increase the time you are prepared to walk in the advanced Journey Planner setting, a walking map will be generated for you.
