TfL's Transport Policing and Enforcement Directorate (TPED) is responsible for this area of work.

TPED's main areas of operation are Transport Policing, Bus Enforcement and Traffic Enforcement.
Together they undertake the following:
- Set the direction, priorities and standards for policing services on London's transport network
- Performance and contract manage visible policing services on the TfL network, working in partnership with the Metropolitan Police Service Transport Operational Command Unit and the British Transport Police
- Co-ordinate and assist in the delivery of TfL's crime and anti-social behaviour reduction activities
- Deliver bus lane and red route enforcement
- Work with boroughs to increase parking and bus lane enforcement on key bus routes
- Tackle fare evasion on London's buses through visible and covert revenue protection activities
- Investigate and prosecute fare evaders and other perpetrators on the transport network
- Undertake analysis to identify and support strategic priorities for transport policing, crime reduction and enforcement activities
