Transport for London

Management

In June 2007 we appointed London Overground Rail Operations Limited (LOROL) to operate  London Overground services, which started running on 11 November 2007.

LOROL will be working to meet our standards of quality, safety, staffing, frequency and ticketing.  LOROL is a consortium of MTR and Laing Rail, which brings together railway experience from both home and abroad.

The overall specification of the train and station services will be our responsibility, including the requirements for quality standards, performance and facilities, and the funding of improvements to stations and the network.

Track and signalling infrastructure, and its operation, will continue to be managed by Network Rail.

As part of the changes, responsibility for the operation of 14 stations on the Overground network will pass to London Underground Ltd (LUL).  This will occur where LUL trains provide the major part of the station's rail operations.
